Fridays-Sundays 5/1 - 5/17 - She Kills Monsters - Arapaho Center Theater - Lafayette

"She Kills Monsters tells the story of Agnes Evans as she leaves her childhood home in Ohio following the death of her teenage sister, Tilly. When Agnes finds Tilly's Dungeons & Dragons notebook, however, she finds herself catapulted into a journey of discovery and action-packed adventure in the imaginary world that was her sister's refuge. In this high-octane dramatic comedy laden with homicidal fairies, nasty ogres, and 90s pop culture, acclaimed playwright Qui Nguyen offers a heart-pounding homage to the geek and warrior within us all.
Will they be able to complete their mission to defeat the Tiamat? And will Agnes reconnect with her sister, Tilly? Guess you’ll have to come find out.

It opens May 1 & runs through May 17, 2026 on Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2pm. Directed by Hannah Richards with stage management by Esther Reed!"

Mork Borg-Bloat (GM: Ben) This is a black-metal graphic horror game set in a wonderland of over-consumption and excrescence. Please be advised that this is an R-rated game.

Nimble (GM: Niko) Niko is running an original adventure: “It is time once again for the annual Augni Festival in the small city of Cawlig. Games will be played, food served, and smiles shared. But will dastardly deals and baneful bandits ruin the fun? Not if you have anything to say about it!”

Night's Black Agents (GM: Nolan) An urban vampire spy thriller. What was supposed to be a simple evidence pickup has gone wrong: the library is on fire and a van is speeding away. Use your spy skills and resources to track down the Romanian branch of a vampire conspiracy.

Part 2 to Quiet Lake: Reach of the Roach God (Oz) An adventure set in Southeast Asia folklore. There are dark happenings at the secluded, and sacred Quiet Lake. Giant bats have been harassing the townsfolk, and goats have gone missing. The last one is a part 2 session with one seat available."

"Hello everyone! I know it’s been a while since I last posted, but I’m excited to share a new project I’m starting: a queer singles game night for young nerds, built around the magic of TTRPGs!

Our first meetup will be on May 4th from 6-8 PM at Mutiny Comics & Coffee. If that sounds like your kind of party, then roll initiative and come join us!

If you’re not eligible to attend because of age or scheduling, please consider sharing this with someone who might be interested, I’d love to turn this little passion project into something real!"

5/19 6:30-8pm - 2nd Star's Book Club - Second Star to the Right Books - Denver

"Join Second Star to the Right at our community book club! We meet in the shop every third Tuesday of the month from 6:30 - 8 pm. Please RSVP!

For our meeting, we will be discussing Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman. Feel free to swing by the shop to pick up a copy or to purchase one via our website. Use code 'community' to enjoy 10% off your purchase.

About the book:

The apocalypse will be televised! Welcome to the first book in the wildly popular and addictive Dungeon Crawler Carl series by Matt Dinniman!

You know what’s worse than breaking up with your girlfriend? Being stuck with her prize-winning show cat. And you know what’s worse than that? An alien invasion, the destruction of all man-made structures on Earth, and the systematic exploitation of all the survivors for a sadistic, intergalactic game show. That’s what.

Join Coast Guard vet Carl and his ex-girlfriend’s cat, Princess Donut, as they try to survive the end of the world—or just get to the next level—in a video game–like, trap-filled fantasy dungeon. A dungeon that’s actually the set of a reality television show with countless viewers across the galaxy. Exploding goblins. Magical potions. Deadly, drug-dealing llamas. This ain’t your ordinary game show.

Welcome, Crawler. Welcome to the Dungeon. Survival is optional. Keeping the viewers entertained is not."

Creator's Corner

Nyarlathotep's Liegemen and the Sea Weed

Baywatch meets Lovecraft-

It's 1994 and the lifeguards are keeping watch over the beaches of Southern California. Not only do you need to keep beach-goers safe from dangerous riptides, heavy surf, and errant jet skis, but also from Lovecraftian horrors from the depths!

Nyarlathotep's Liegemen and the Sea Weed is designed for use with R'lyehwatch, an RPG system that manages to pack this all into one game! PLUS, due to the generous third-party license and system reference document, everything you need to play the game is contained within Nyarlathotep's Liegemen (It doesn't hurt to get yourself copy of the original though)!

Pirate Borg: Limithron's Pirate Map Collection

For the past six years, Captain Limithron's been hunched over his table, carefully detailing over 1,000 maps set deep within the Dark Caribbean. This July, we'll be printing our favorite 100+ battle maps along with reusable sticker assets and bundling them all into one massive trove!

But you'll be needin' some more encounters to go with 'em...

So, we're also creating the PIRATE BORG Encounter Atlas. Top-of-the-line RPG designer Joseph R. Lewis has been filling a book with 100+ encountershundreds of tables, and maybe even a short adventure or two, with each entry specifically inspired by the maps featured in the box.

Well that's all for this edition of the RPG Colorado Newsletter! Thank you very much for reading. We hope you find some games to play!
