Thurs 9/10 7pm - Roleplay at the Cabaret: Murder on the Dancefloor - Clockwork Cabaret - Denver

"A comedic, immersive live-play D&D-like variety show

Here's the skinny. It's 10:42 on a Friday night, and it was all about the boogie. The Midnight Ballroom was full of casanovas, foxy mamas, even some jive turkeys learning to be real cool. Right on. Nobody was expecting it when some of those dancing near the middle started buggin' out, howling over the groove. Everything went freaky deaky then, the crowd booking it left and right. This was not funky, not groovy, sure as shit wasn't stellar. At the end of the freak out, just a few remained. One lying on the ground... cold... you catch my drift? I had a feeling the killer was still here, but who? And why? What. A. Nightmare.

In this unique dice-rolling stage show, watch and influence four players as they navigate a night of surprises, suspicion, and chaos as they try to solve the murder on the dancefloor. Through our custom website experience, you can suggest plot twists, flashbacks, and even give full advantages to the players in real time. Blended with burlesque/cabaret guest performers, games and challenges, and so much more, it's a one-of-a-kind variety experience that will never be done the same way again!

Roleplay at the Cabaret is a stylized live-play TTRPG stage experience that blends the traditional dice-rolling improv storytelling of roleplaying games with the intimate spectacle of cabaret. With audience participation, variety hijinks, and live influence through a custom-built website, they present a show that's just as much fun as it is unique."

Sun 9/13 11am– 5pm - Denver Zinefest - Denver Public Library Central - Denver

"Since 2007, Denver Zine Fest has been a vibrant platform for Colorado zine creators to collaborate, share their work, and build community. This year’s event will feature over 90 independent creators from Denver, across Colorado, and beyond. Join us for a day filled with zine-y goodness and some fantastic collaborations with Colorado’s finest creatives!
Mark your calendar for September 13th, from 11am-5pm, and head to the Denver Public Library - Central Library for this free event!
Thanks to @bachamness for our poster this year and to all our amazing sponsors! Its OFFICIAL!"

I know there's significant overlap in RPG players and zine makers/readers. I'm not sure how/if that will be reflected in this event but I'm excited to check it out. If you or someone you know is one of the featured creators let us know so we can say hi and feature their work! Also hit us up if you're an RPG zine maker who would be interested in having a presence at Zinefest next year, we think it would be cool to have a collective table to show off this side of the hobbies.

Tue, 9/15 7-8:30pm - Goblin Mode Improv - Western Sky Bar & Taproom - Englewood

Lovable comedians turn your D&D stories into live comedy.

Have a good D&D story? Or a friend who does? You might be part of what makes this show unforgettable.

Our show starts with an audience member telling the story of an unforgettable moment in a D&D game they really played. We interview them to draw out the interesting and funny details. Then we perform improvised scenes inspired by the story they told. We never know what'll happen in the scenes, but it's always absolute goblin behavior.

Tacticon Special - Coming Soon!

We are gonna do a special issue detailing Tacticon 2026. If you have pictures or stories you like to share then we'd love to hear them and feature them soon. You can contact us at our new email rpgcoloradonewsletter@gmail.com. We also would love to hear from the board and miniature gamers, so if you know some folks who were doing that at Tacticon send them our way so we can showcase all sides of the convention.

Mothership Month - November 2026

Not specific to Colorado, but a great opportunity to creators in our space. If you're not familiar with Mothership, go play it! But seriously, it's a rules light scifi horror game. Previously Mothership Month was a group crowdfunding event, but this year they're switching it up. They'll be launching the Warden's Club, so you can get rewards for running public games. They'll launch Mothership Select, where they will highlight excellent 3rd party products. And most excitingly, they'll be funding The Mothership Jump-9 Writers Grant:

"The Jump-9 Writers Grant is a $9,000 grant for three new(ish) writers. Each writer gets $9k (about $4k for them and $5k to spend on contractors and manufacturing) to produce a 32 page Mothership zine. They’ll work with our development team, we’ll help set them up with artists and editors and walk them through the manufacturing process. TKG will pre-order 100-200 copies of the zine from the creators wholesale once they’re printed. But these writers will own their books as third party publishers. We’re looking for up and coming horror writers who are passionate about Mothership. If you’ve got a pamphlet or two under your belt, and aren’t sure where to go next, you’re who we’re looking for. We’ll start taking submissions with a small questionnaire in September. We’ll pick finalists and interview them in October and we’ll announce the three winners during Mothership Month. Sign up here to get notified for when submissions go live."

Mothership Month 2026

Mothership Month is coming November 1 - November 30, back to our regularly scheduled time slot. With one big caveat: No crowdfunding this year.

I don’t know how you all feel, but I’m exhausted. We’re not saying we’ll never do a group collab again, but we want to tap the breaks. Why? A couple of reasons:

Let's hit the pause button. It's time to unplug and reconnect with what matters most: each other."

New coffee shop/board game cafe Breakhaus is looking to be an inclusive new space for Colorado gamers. They've been posting around local groups looking to bring in gamers to their shop. Go check it out and play some games, be sure to see the mural by Joe Palec which the shop posted a video about on Reddit.

Commissioned the talented Joe Palec (local artist from Cap Hill) for a TTPRG & board gaming-inspired mural at Breakhaus Coffee! Super happy with how it turned out.
